Many a large mat are double the cost of a piece of uncut mat board yowzers and with that said i do collect photography prints and frames and have spent plenty a dime on professionally made or store bought mats but all too regularly find myself dealing with two issues.

I glued my print because it was printed on very sturdy canvas paper.
Beginning with a turquoise mat add 1 2 foam board on top and end with the addition of a white mat on top of the foam board.

If you re working with original artwork please don t glue it.
Attach your artwork to that center piece of foam board you cut out.

So as per usual i figured out a way to make diy picture mats and spent a whopping total of 4 00 to make them.

Here the image is cut apart each section mounted on 1 4 foam board and individual mats cut around each section.
